[Review] You Turn by Marion Croslydon

Sometimes our first love is also meant to be our last...

After being dumped by her fiancé, Eleanor Carrington flees to Paris to help her self-medicated mother. While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy bears, Eleanor launches a new, no-strings-attached life plan with absolutely NO falling in love whatsoever. On her part at least, because her self-esteem could do with one or two Frenchmen going un peu crazy for her.

What she doesn’t need is for her first Grand Amour, Zachary Murdoch, to burst back into her life. Whatever shit-show she’s just been through was a stroll. What Zach put her though was a climb up Mount Everest. Barefoot. In a bikini.

Now a club-owner in Paris, Zach is intrigued by the troubled woman who was once the sweet girl he had to give up. Offering a shoulder for her to cry on is what he owes her. Loving her is what he lost the right to. Because there’s a reason he broke up with Lenor and that reason is why she’s in Paris.

But Paris is known as the City of Love…

Will he be her turn at love?

*** You Turn is a contemporary adult romance and part of the Second Chances series. However, Lenor and Zach’s story can be read as a stand-alone novel. There is no cliffhanger. ***

**Book received in exchange for an honest review**

I started the book and yet again stopped reading... which is why it's been on my reading list for well, forever.
Yet Wednesday night I picked it up and managed to get to 39% without being able to put it down and last night I completed it.
My point of that is it's not due to the book, but to me for not finishing it.
I ♥ a good old childhood crush/lovers romance. And yet I didn't see the twist until a couple of chapters before the big reveal! I just though the issue was Zach being a whore in the past but noooo!!
The story travels between the present and 5 years before. At first my little head couldn't grasp this but I realized quickly the point of it and it completely worked as you travel from chapter to chapter, past and presence.
5 years ago, Lenor and Zach had a thing. I didn't realize how strong that thing was though as I myself considered it to be another notch on the bed post. But at the end of their relationship-which Zach called off, Lenor was left heartbroken.
So many secrets take them to where they are now which are amazingly written and hidden in the story that makes you 'oooh' in the middle of night.
In the present day Lenor is trying to get over her fiance crisis and help her drug/alcohol loving French mother.
She doesn't expect that childhood crush-the one who broke her heart- to leap back in to be her knight in shining armor.
Because of the past, Lenor tries to distance herself from her feelings while trying to be his friend but love isn't having any of it.
Just when you think that everything is as it should be... a bulldozer leaps in and breaks it! In style.
I couldn't put the book down from 39% so I'm thankful for the Easter weekend and not having to work!
