[Review] Garrett by Sawyer Bennett

Carolina Cold Fury star Garrett Samuelson never wants to miss out on a single minute of fun. Whether he’s playing hockey, hanging out with friends, or walking the red carpet with a new date on his arm, he lives every day to the fullest. When he meets Olivia Case, he sees someone who’s exactly his type—confident, sexy, smart . . . his next fling. But the more he pursues her, the more Garrett shares a side of himself that other women don’t normally get to see.

Olivia has been keeping a secret. While Garrett lives for the next thrill, Olivia’s not sure she’ll live to see the next day. She’s undergoing treatment for some serious medical issues, and she doesn’t have time for a relationship with no guarantees—especially one with a hot-as-sin womanizer who won’t take no for an answer. But as she gets to know the real Garrett, Olivia can’t help falling for him . . . hard. To reveal the truth would mean risking everything—but you can’t score without taking the tough shots.

I have been a fan of Sawyer Bennett for quite some time and have been eagerly awaiting my kindle ARC list to get around to Garrett having loved Alex. This book was just as amazing. In fact, I couldn't put it down. I made a rule for my reading nights, and that is to read 15% a night and read between 9 & 10 so that I can finish them in a week, and so I can put it down and get some sleep at a reasonable hour.
It's been a midnight finish the few nights I read and on the first night I verbally "oops," myself when I looked and and was at 45%.
This story starts in Garretts POV. The typical man whore, waking up in bed with 2 women he can't remember the name of! He's a Hockey player and women swarm at him.
While at a party Olivia catches his eye, naturally beautiful and I imagined her to have one of those floaty angel appearences. But, rather than falling for his lines and date offers she declines which as you can imagine is a first for the guy. And then there is another snag. She's Suttons cousin, Sutton being Alex's fiance who I met and swooned over in the 1st book.
She continues to decline him until she leaves after getting a phone call. What Garrett doesn't know is, that she's going through the early stages of finding out about her cancer. A thing that is superbly talked about through the whole book, and also one of the things that makes Olivia give in and go on a date. After all, she has no idea what her life expectancy is and wants to live a little.
What they don't plan on is love happening and the fact that Garrett changes his ways over this woman who is interested in him and not his celebrity status.
Throughout, you feel involved in wanting these two to figure it out and to overcome the cancer. You feel like you're fighting it with Olivia it was written so well. You were apart of it.
Obviously they have their ups and downs and as a reader you see both sides of their theories.
I think given what's going on, how they act and react to the crap, part of you wants to bang their heads together and the other knows that as humans, we'd probably do the same or maybe that's just because I know what it's like to be stubborn.

Another amaze-balls book! Get me Zack!
