[Review] What to Do With a Bad Boy by Marie Harte

Mike McCauley had his soul mate for a precious time before she died giving birth to their son. She left him with the best boy a guy could want, so why is everyone playing matchmaker? He's sick of it . . . until he meets Delilah Webster.

For some reason, the foul-mouthed, tattooed mechanic sets his motor running. He sees the loving woman buried within. But the closer they get, the more the pain of past wounds throws a monkey wrench into a future he's not sure he can handle...

Interesting synopsis. Interesting cover.
Nice to see a bit of role reversal. Normally it's the female holding the baby when a tattooed man comes into her life.
Interested to see what monkey wrenches get thrown too.

I have read more than 16% but haven't updated goodreads and I don't have my Kindle to hand to check (damn work!)
Mike is a single dad who adores the ground his son, Colin walks on. He lost the love of his life Lea when Colin was born.
Since then he has only messed around with women who want the same thing. a quick f**k!
His mother, Beth is also trying to find him 'the perfect little princess' to settle down with... who is just like Lea.

I have to say that I haven't managed to update my review at every point during the time I was reading mainly because during the day I have either been at work or doing something to keep me busy and at night, at the point I have put my kindle down I have been too tired to review and update. But, you could see that as a good point.
It's been a while since I have itched to get back to a book so much.
The relationship that blossoms between Mike and Del is new to them both. They wanted to get whatever was happening between them, out of their system but it winds up being something a lot more. They both started this thing as friends, sleeping together and not wanting more but they both seem to want a lot more than they both bargained for while they tried to hide it from themselves and each other. Eventually Mike takes the plunge and asks Del to be his girlfriend and much to Colin's happiness he see's that as another step forward in getting a new Mom, and not just any Mom, he wants Del, a puppy and a baby brother - the kid doesn't want much.
Everything seems to be going great until one day Colin chases down a puppy that's been abandoned and instead of letting Colin take the hit from a car that's heading his way, Del jumps in and moves Colin, landing herself in hospital.
Now you'd think that this would open Mikes eyes so he could see the lengths that Del would go to save his child but instead it reminds him of what losing someone you love can do to you and the relationship takes a 180 degree turn.
It takes the intervention of his dad, James and Del's dad Liam to wake him up and for Liam to explain the dangers of living in the same fear he did after losing his wife.
Thankfully by the end those two - Mike and Del - they get their crap together and they sort it out by means of a ring and Colin questioning when he'll get his baby brother.
Final Thoughts
First book by Marie Harte and I have to say that I downloaded the first 3 books in the series so that I could read what I missed and keep the characters with me for a while longer.
The plot sailed smoothly with nothing causing me to get frustrated by any turn of events.
