[Review] Full Contact by Sidney Halston

Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty for the woman he loves.

How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?

Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he's probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

** ARC recieved in exchange for an honest review from Netgallery **

When I realized that this book was Slade's story I was a little disappointed, I just didn't feel like I wanted to read about him, he wasn't a character I felt... I don't know, intrigued by.
*slaps self*
I deffinately came to my senses quickly! had it not been for Christmas and work, I would have finished this book sooner. It was just this morning that I finished it and tapped the screen to check on my progress to see how much I had left before i turned my kindle off before it died, just so I could update Goodreads.... 95% .... I just stayed in bed longer and finished it!
Slade Martin is Chrissy's brother. Her older brother who also participates in MMA fighting, only for him it's a career.
We saw him fight his last fight in Against the Cage and this story takes us from just before the epilogue, to after.
Jessica is the reason Slade got arrested and the reason Chrissy came back.
Jessica (during ATC) was beaten by her ex. Dennis. and Slade took care of her. Slade has always had a thing for this, Lady, and from the moment she went back home, he continued to prove what she'd been missing out on. For them, it seems their relationship, just was. It was like they slipped into it and that is one thing I adore.
Everything seems to be going peachy. Jess is working towards her dream and Slade is living his - being co-owner of WtF. Worth the Fight, not What the Fuck! - that is until Dennis pokes his slimey, want to beat his ass all over Tarpon Springs face back in Jess's life.
He threatens her and Slade and to protect the one she loves, she does it.
It takes some coming around too, but with the help of Jack, she manages it... if only Slade didn't risk his own life in the process.
It was a fantastic read and I'm so glad that Dennis got what he deserved, you have no idea how I love parts of the story when read guys like him, get their just deserts.
As for Slade and Jess.... HEA! Slade proves that someone who looks like a giant can be a teddy bear and also that a leopard can change their spots. it's cliche, but, NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER.
Not Sidney's book, obviously, but people, life and situations.
