[Review] Against the Cage by Sidney Halston

In her Loveswept debut, Sidney Halston turns up the heat as a sexy cage fighter shows a former bookworm how delicious a few rounds between the sheets can be.

For Chrissy Martin, returning to her Florida hometown always seems to bring bad luck. The day starts with a breakup text, followed by a jailhouse phone call from her troublemaker brother. Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer . . . in adelicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.

Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.
I have had this book on my TBR list since it's release and constantly told myself to read it, and never got around to it once the ARC's started coming in. I have the follow up book to review and thought it was the perfect time to schedule book 1 in before I got around to it "Thank God for my spreadsheet idea. #Geek."

I have read Seeing Red and Seeing Black by Sidney and loved them. I'm so happy for the author and thankful for her help when I wrote my first book.

Against the Cage wasn't what I was expecting, I did think there would be more MMA but at the same time, I felt like what we got was enough. Any more and it would have diverted away from the story between Jack and Chrissy.
Chrissy is back home to bail her brother, Slade, out of jail after a fight. Being back there is bad enough, but breaking her heel, getting a flat tire and then being pulled over... she realizes that her night can't get any worse. Scratch that, it can... when she punches the officer in the balls... *insert laughing in the dark.*
The officer- Jack - Is none other than her brothers best-friend since childhood. The same Jack she hasn't seen for 11 years and the same one she refused to speak to after he slept with her best-friend, Veronica, which resulted in Chrissy losing said friend.
Over the next few days Chrissy and Jack spend time together and a hell of a lot comes light. Their feelings. Their past. Their hobbies and how everything clicks into place for all three of them.
Slade is able to understand the reason why Chrissy left after their fathers funeral and Jack finds out why she left in the first place, one of the reasons she hates his and  Slade's MMA fighting.

** Also, I adore Drogo!!! **
