[Review] Mr. Rich by Virna DePaul

She finds a wallet (not a shoe), and he’s a billionaire (not a prince), but this time, Cinderella’s turning the tables. . . .

Julia: Shilling samples at a grocery store isn’t exactly my dream job. Yet here I am, tray in hand and fake smile plastered on my face. The one highlight is seeing him. I don’t know his name, but if I did, I’d scream it during the naughty dreams he inspires. He’s crazy handsome, all confidence and an air of power. He’s never said a word to me. Never even looked in my direction. Then one day he literally falls at my feet. Now I have his wallet. I know where he lives. And I’ve found the nude photos of him online.

It’s not the bruschetta on her tray he really wants to taste. . . .

Bastian: I’ve dated models, doctors, and CEOs, but something about Julia Rominger has me intrigued . . . and more than a little aroused. Maybe it’s her lush curves driving me wild. Or the fact that she has no problem telling me to go to hell. Either way, she’s seen me at my worst; I want to hit her with my best. I know where to touch, where to kiss, and just how far to push to drive her crazy. Soon, however, pleasuring Julia isn’t enough. I want to possess her. I need to make her mine. And I’ll fight to the bitter end to win her heart.

I read Mr. Rich all in one sitting. I found the first few chapters repetitive, but at the same I completely get how her mind works. Nothings ever black and white when your mind starts working and thinking up scenarios. It's a rainbow of colours and outcomes.
Julie is your bog standard female getting by in a job she hates when Mr. Rich comes in and falls for bog standard female. I know I've read books like this a million times and know how it goes but... it always give us bog standard females a tiny bit of hope.
The book was an okay read with a plot easy to follow and with just enough action so you weren't bored but not too much where you feel yourself getting a headache.
Would be a book I recommend to anyone wanting a nightly read.

[Review] Shutout by Stacy Borel

From New York Times and USA Today's best selling author, Stacy Borel, comes the series finale of The Core Four.

Hadley Marten's first year at LSU was supposed to be a fresh start. Somewhere she could reinvent herself and leave behind old stigmas.

Eighteen years of being a nobody, and she was ready to be a somebody.

Just when she thought she could finally take life by the horns, she heard a familiar voice say her name.

Wrigley Brooks was the boy she always wanted, but could never have. He was the last single Brooks brother.

One forced friendship, budding feelings, and a man that can't take no for an answer, has her world turned upside down.

Life was determined to show Hadley that there was a lesson in everything. Whether she liked it or not.

Final book and I think between the brothers, Wrigley is my fav!
OK, Camden and Wrigley. The beginning and end make the series worth it.
So Hadley is the girl down the street who's been the social outcast all her life. The fact she's heading off to college to reinvent herself, or become herself is actually quite exciting. Except she's not alone and the boy she's crushed after -  Wrigley is there too.
Their bond and friendship is glued from their home town and Wrigley quickly sees Hadley for who she is. Yes they have their issues but  think we can all relate to that voice inside our heads sometimes and letting the past ruin the future.
It was a lovely written book again without too much drama, but just enough.
Is it bad when I loved the 5 year epilogue more than anything? Probably but I missed them all as a group. I love how the author (Stacy) intermingled the book with Cutter.
They worked perfectly. I also loved reliving one of my fav scenes from it.
If anyone wanted an easier read series, this would be it.
I'm so glad I took my first chance on a whole series all together (which I've never done before) and so glad the Brooks Brothers came in to my life.

2018 Is Book Year!

It dawned on me the other night that I've never really posted about anything other than books and as I thought about it, I realized that that's quite abrupt.
I log in, post what needs to be posted and go.
Unless I'm updating something and then I might stay for a little while longer. But it's always to the point.
Yet every other blog I have, I sit down and think about it. I can spend a whole day logging on and doing a bit here and there before resuming the post later on.

So I thought I'd change that today and write a post where I'm speaking to you guys!
Firstly, Happy New Year! I hope you had an amazing Christmas too.
This year I'm aiming to read more than I did last. In 2017 it kinda fizzled out about half way through and it irritated me so much not reading but I didn't have the time or mental energy to simply read.
5th day in though and I'm on book 3 so I'm happy with the progress so far.
I had a massive Kindle sort through and I think I removed approx 400 books from it that I 'didn't like the cover of'. Which I know is wrong but there's still a few hundred on there and it was starting to feel like I was reading books for the sake of it and not because I wanted to.
I'm also hoping that when I've done having a whole life overhaul (It's not just my Kindle getting a sort out) my mind will be free to do the one thing I love more than anything and that's write.
This year it's going to get done! I promise... myself
Are there any releases that you're looking forward to?
Any Book to Movie releases on your to watch list? I'm looking forward to seeing Fifty Shades but only because I've watched the first two. I do prefer the books to the movie.
I'm aware when I'm this excited about something someone, somewhere likes to burst my bubble but for now I'm over the moon with excitement to get this year rolling.

Hope to speak to you all soon.

[Review] Cutter by Stacy Borel

Did somebody say baby?

Macie Rosewood was a firecracker, in and out of the bedroom. She lived her life according to her own rules and high standards. When she caught the attention from one of the most eligible Brooks brothers two years ago, Macie had found real love.

Dodger Brooks was the sensible brother that played hard and loved even harder. When Macie walked into his life, he found what he'd been looking for. After fear drove her away, Dodger wasn't one to give up so easily.

But what happens when sexual tension was too hard to resist, and Macie is left with more than just a hangover after her best friend's wedding?

What lengths are Dodger and Macie willing to go through in order to make a relationship work?

And what happens when another woman is hell-bent on splitting them apart?

So Third book in the series and second book of 2018. I feel like I need to treat myself for this! I'm actually sticking to a yearly plan so far!
Anyway, Dodger is the original and first Brooks brother we meet in the series and I expected the book to be more... something, just like Bender and Camden. That being said it had more something than Turner and Slider.
Dodger and Macie have a history and they're constantly fighting over their love I guess. Macie wanting it to not be real and Dodger wanting it to be. I guess that's the only reason for it. Until Dana flashes her ugly head.
So I never knew up until that book that Macie and Dodger had been sleeping together in fact, the impression I got from previous was that Dodger was holding out and the wedding was the first and fateful time.
Secondly. When did Macie become a nurse? I don't remember it being part of the books. Nor Macie, Anabelle and Keegen working near each other. I knew Anabelle and Keegen did but never Macie.

Apart from that, I really enjoyed the book- honestly. I liked Dodger from the start and I'm really hoping that in Shutout we get to see the boys all together because I missed them being together in this book...
I'm hoping that Shutout doesn't let me down now so I can see the Brooks brothers all getting their s**t together with women.
